Technical Issues

Having trouble with a page, form, login, support portal, upload, or another website feature? This guide explains the most common technical issues and the steps you can take to resolve them quickly before submitting a support request.

Common Website Technical Issues

Technical problems can be caused by browser settings, cached files, internet connectivity, device compatibility, extensions, or temporary website errors. Common symptoms include:

  • Pages loading slowly or not loading at all
  • Forms that will not submit
  • Buttons or links that do not respond
  • Login or account access problems
  • Images or page sections not displaying correctly
  • File uploads failing
  • Error messages appearing during checkout, form submission, or navigation
  • Pages looking different on mobile, tablet, or desktop devices

1. Start With Basic Troubleshooting

Before reporting a technical issue, try these quick checks. They solve many temporary browser and website problems.

  1. Refresh the page: Reload the page and try the action again.
  2. Check your internet connection: Open another website to confirm your connection is working properly.
  3. Use an updated browser: Try the latest version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
  4. Open a private or incognito window: This can help identify problems caused by stored cookies, cache, or browser extensions.
  5. Try another device: If possible, test the same page on a phone, tablet, or another computer.
  6. Restart your browser or device: A restart can clear temporary processes that may be causing the problem.

2. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies

Your browser stores website files to make pages load faster. Occasionally, outdated cached files can prevent a page from displaying or functioning correctly.

Clear the cache and cookies for the affected website, close the browser completely, reopen it, and test the page again. If the issue disappears in a private browsing window, cached data or an extension is likely involved.

3. Form Will Not Submit

If a contact form, support form, or request form does not submit, review the following:

  • Make sure all required fields are completed.
  • Check that your email address is entered in a valid format.
  • Look for validation messages near individual fields.
  • Confirm that uploaded files meet the allowed file type and size requirements.
  • Remove unusually large attachments and try again.
  • Disable browser extensions that may block JavaScript or form scripts.
  • Try submitting the form from another browser or device.

If you need help with the submission process, see our How to Submit a Form guide.

4. Page or Support Portal Does Not Load

If a page is blank, partially loaded, or displays an error, first refresh the page and check your internet connection. You can also try a different browser or device.

Browser extensions such as ad blockers, privacy tools, script blockers, or security extensions can sometimes prevent important page elements from loading. Temporarily disable them one at a time and test again.

If the issue continues, note the exact page URL and any error message you see. This information helps the support team reproduce and diagnose the problem.

5. Login or Account Access Problems

If you cannot access your account, first verify that you are using the correct email address and password. Check for typing errors, Caps Lock, and saved passwords that may be outdated.

If a password reset email does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder and allow a few minutes for delivery. For additional help, visit our Account & Login support page.

For your security, never send your password, one-time password (OTP), security answers, or other sensitive login credentials in a support ticket.

6. File Upload Problems

Uploads can fail when a file is too large, the file format is unsupported, the internet connection is unstable, or the browser times out.

  • Check the file type and size before uploading.
  • Rename the file using simple letters and numbers if the filename contains unusual symbols.
  • Try a smaller version of the file.
  • Use a stable internet connection.
  • Retry the upload in another browser if necessary.

7. Website Looks Broken or Displays Incorrectly

If text overlaps, images are missing, menus do not open, or the layout appears incorrect, the problem may be related to cached CSS or JavaScript files, browser compatibility, screen size, or an extension.

Take a screenshot before refreshing or clearing the cache. A screenshot can help the support team understand exactly what you saw.

8. Mobile or Tablet Issues

If the problem occurs only on a mobile device, rotate the device, refresh the page, and test in another mobile browser. Make sure your operating system and browser are reasonably up to date.

When reporting a mobile issue, include the device model, operating system, browser name, and whether the problem occurs in portrait mode, landscape mode, or both.

9. Error Messages and Error Codes

If an error message appears, copy the exact text or take a screenshot. Even a short error code can provide useful diagnostic information.

Do not repeatedly submit the same form, payment, or request if you are unsure whether the first attempt completed successfully. For payment-related concerns, check our Billing & Payments page before trying again.

What Information Should You Include in a Technical Support Request?

Providing clear details can significantly reduce troubleshooting time. Include:

  • The exact page URL where the issue occurred
  • A short description of what you were trying to do
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • The exact error message or error code, if any
  • Your browser name and approximate version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The date and approximate time the issue occurred
  • A screenshot showing the problem, when possible
  • The troubleshooting steps you already tried

Information You Should Never Send

For your privacy and security, do not include passwords, full payment card numbers, CVV codes, one-time passwords, banking PINs, or other highly sensitive information in screenshots or support requests.

When Should You Contact Support?

Submit a support request if the problem continues after trying the basic troubleshooting steps, if you see repeated errors, if an important feature is unavailable, or if the issue affects your ability to access your account or complete a request.

Frequently Asked Questions About Technical Issues

Why is a website page not loading?

A page may fail to load because of an unstable internet connection, outdated cached files, browser extensions, browser compatibility problems, or a temporary server-side issue. Refresh the page, try a private window, and test another browser or device.

Why does a form do nothing when I click Submit?

A required field may be incomplete, a validation rule may be blocking submission, an attachment may be too large, or a browser extension may be interfering with the form script. Check for field errors and retry without extensions or large attachments.

What browser should I use?

Use a current version of a major browser such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari. Keeping your browser updated improves compatibility, security, and performance.

Should I send a screenshot?

Yes. Screenshots are often helpful because they show the exact error, page state, or layout problem. Before sending one, make sure it does not reveal passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information.

What if the problem only happens on one device?

That usually indicates a browser, device, extension, network, or cached-data issue. Compare the same page on another device and include both results when you contact support.
