Balance diet is nothing but eating nutritious food in proportion. This helps you to keep your body fit and healthy. Balance diet consists of Vitamins, Minerals, Carbohydrates, Proteins, Salts and Fats etc.

Our digestive system turns all this starch into another carbohydrate called glucose. Some of our carbohydrate which we get is in the form of sucrose; this is nothing but sugar. Both sucrose and glucose are sugars.

You can get carbohydrates form of starch, glucose, cane sugar, milk, etc. Grains, roots, and tubers are made of starch which is nothing but complex carbohydrate.


Proteins are essential for growth and repair. Proteins have Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen and sometimes Sulphur.
Proteins can also be used as a source of energy.


Vitamins are required in very small quantities. There are different vitamins which are useful for different functions of our body.

Vitamin A: It is good for your eyes. Keeps your eyesight good.
Vitamin B: There are about 12 different chemicals.
Vitamin C: Helps your body to repair itself.
Vitamin D: It helps for absorption of Calcium.
Vitamin E: It is useful for reproduction?

These keep our teeth, bones, muscles healthy. Minerals like iron, calcium, sodium, iodine play very important role to maintain the level of hemoglobin and keep teeth, bones and muscles healthy.


This keeps your intestines function correctly; it is not digested.
If you do not eat food, materials which contain fiber you might suffer with problems of the colon and rectum.


Like carbohydrates, fats contain the elements Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen. Fats are used as a source of energy. You must consume some fat in your diet as it contains fat soluble vitamins.
