Editor Review by : Alex Sam

None of us in general (and women in particular) wants to be labeled ‘OLD’. .However, with the passage of time age starts showing on our face. This could be in the form of dark circles around eyes, wrinkling of skin,…Anti aging means dealing with these problems or preventing them (prevention is better than cure). Here we shall deal with the broader meaning of the word to include ‘longevity’.

History

Ancient Egyptians used Olive leaves for anti aging. Other civilizations tried drinking, eating, or injecting substances such as gold, testicles, and transplanting monkey gonads.

The Other Side Of The Coin

The very word ’ageing’ brings to our minds the bleak pictures of being a downhill process with increasing loss of skills, functions, and quality of life. This is just one side of the coin. Elder (I will use this word instead of ‘older’, for obvious reasons) people report being happier than their younger counterparts. However, there occurs anexception to this observation once the person crosses 75.Seniors tend to be better storytellers. They are more suave in dealing with people as they are more agreeable and conscientious .Also, seniors are more positive and are able to control their emotions better.

Steps For Prevention And Cure:

Taking diet rich in vitamins, particularly vitamin C. Vitamin C is also available in capsule or tablet form. Consult your doctor for more details.

Drinking good amount of water. This is advisable for general well-being.

Same old doctor’s advice: EXERCISE. This is particularly true for those of us who lead sedentary lives.

Quit smoking.

HGH ( Human Growth Hormone) injections are also available.

One should not forget the old saying” Face is the index of mind”. Those who are optimistic and humorous are able to defy their age. There is the proverb:” Laughter is the best medicine”. This is especially true for anti-aging. One can also take help from yoga and other forms of meditation.
